Ingo Heidbrink (born 1968) is a German maritime historian who is Professor of History with a specialization on Maritime History at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He is specialized on Fisheries History, Traditional Watercraft and Museum Ships, Methodology of Maritime History and interdisciplinary research projects. Since Summer 2021 he is Chair of the Department of History at Old Dominion University.
Sail Nauticus, a program of the Nauticus Foundation, develops leadership and academic success through the art and science of sailing to underserved youth in Hampton Roads. Sail Nauticus programs includes the flagship Sail Academy, sailing memberships, skills clinics, group outings, summer camps and more. Located on Nauticus’ campus along the pier, Sail Nauticus also offers corporate outings, field trips and volunteer opportunities aboard the Schooner Virginia.
The Elizabeth River Project is a growing non-profit organization leading the effort to restore the health of our historic urban river, while affirming her value to our region’s maritime economy.
Old Dominion University Sailing Team will pop up with equipment and ephemera from the 2024 Sailing season.
ODU’s Graphic Design Club will feature student-made exhibition-responsive maritime posters during U-Nite and the following day during Tidal: 757’s Design Conference (hosted at the Barry Art Museum).
