The Barry Art Museum will be closed to the public on Friday, 12/1. We will resume our normal hours of operation on Saturday, 12/2.
The Great Lunar Expedition for Everyone (GLEE) is a mission to the surface of the moon that will conduct science and test technology with hundreds of 5 gram LunaSats (tiny spacecraft with an integrated sensor suite) built by students from all around the world. Inspired by NASA’s Apollo Moon landings over 50 years ago, GLEE will be a catalyst for a new generation of space missions and explorers. This scientific and technological mission to the Moon will deploy 500 LunaSats to the lunar surface to conduct local and distributed science missions. Two Old Dominion University (ODU) teams have been selected to attend the GLEE in-person workshop. In the live workshop, the two ODU teams will design a science mission local to their LunaSat that is based on their interests and the expertise of their team and supporting community.
