Cross Pollination Lecture Series: Jennifer Brown & Charlotte Potter Kasic
August 5, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Our final event in the Cross-Pollination lecture series will be between Jennifer Brown, the Collection Manager for the Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants at Harvard University, and Charlotte Potter Kasic, who will be speaking about Debora Moore’s intricate and evocative floral installations.
This event is brought to you in partnership with the Harvard University Herbaria/Harvard Museum of Natural History and the ODU Office of Community Engagement.
Jennifer Brown is the Collection Manager for the Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants at Harvard University, better known as the Glass Flowers. This unique collection of 4,300 astonishingly realistic glass models was made from 1886 through 1936 by Leopold Blaschka and his son, Rudolf.
Debora Moore takes glass blowing to a new and exciting level with her desire to translate the breathtaking grandeur and delicate fragility of the natural world into a unique sculptural interpretation. Her work with Orchids and other botanical studies displays a fascination with their intricate structure and how they thrive in harmony with each other.
